News Release for CICATRIX exhibition
Swindon Museum & Art Gallery 12 SEPTEMBER – 1 DECEMBER 2018
Announcing the concluding phase of this collaboration, Cicatrix is an international, multimedia WW1 centenary art project. The collaboration of six artists incorporates installation, film, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and sound; showing an alternative insight into the WW1 legacy.
Cicatrix reaches out to 3 Commonwealth countries whose troops trained on Salisbury Plain in WW1. These are Australia, Canada and New Zealand, represented here by artists from these nations.
Touring since 2014, Cicatrix draws to a close at Swindon Museum & Art Gallery. The exhibition also includes pieces from The Swindon Collection, as selected by all the artists.
Cicatrix offers audience participation and panel discussions by arrangement.
