Cicatrix has been evolving naturally into an international exchange project, inviting artists from the Commonwealth countries connected by Salisbury Plain, into an international collaboration centering around this significant and unique landscape. Caro Williams from New Zealand will be the first of these collaborations.
Resident in Salisbury Plain, Caro will gather sound recordings from bird life and work them into her 'Call and Response' sound installation, responding to birdlife calls already gathered from the New Zealand environment.Culminating in an exhibition of new work from all Cicatrix artists, 'Call and Response' will form part of the Salisbury International Festival, an internationally renowned celebration of artwork from various parts of the world, this year, focusing on the wonderful New Zealand environment. We are delighted to have Caro join us for the second phase of our exploration into this complex and challenging landscape. The resulting work from Caro's residency and the work by all three original Cicatrix artists will be on display at the Rifles Museum, in Salisbury Close throughout the festival, details at https://www.salisburyfestival.co.uk/
