Review from America of Cicatrix Discussion Forum by Stasha McBride

The following review was written by Stasha McBride from America about the discussion forum video of How artists navigate difficult Ground?.

"Watch these three incredible women discuss their collaboration to produce this exhibition. Cicatrix explores the impact of war and conflict, an important counter to the glorification we see so often in memorials. "The plain" in the discussion is Saliabury Plain where Stonhenge is located. There is a large military base in Wiltshire (the county) and the plain is home to an army training facility. Though this exhibit is in response to WWI memorials I think it is particularly relevant today when the US and Britain have been engaged in their longest military engagement without sustained direct U.S. & UK civilan experience. We have so many scars from all conflict and these will impact on us for far longer than we realize.

Additionally, for all my fabulous feminist art lovers out there it is wonderful to see a successful supportive collaboration between women."
